Our People

Shelly Cayton

Education Coordinator

Shelly manages Shap’s Social Work Student Placements (she’s our Practice Educator) and volunteers.

She has worked with children, families and vulnerable people for 18 years and her work experience includes residential support work, teaching assistant, floating support worker, Advocate, Street Outreach Worker, Complex Needs Coordinator, Senior Practitioner, Project Worker (hostel), Independent Practice Educator and Education Coordinator.

She has been a qualified social worker for 6 years and actually completed her final social work placement at Shap’s Halton Floating Support Scheme. She enjoyed her placement and the values of the organisation to such an extent that she secured temporary employment with us upon qualifying.

Although she has worked elsewhere, she keeps coming back to Shap and has been with us on and off for the last 6 years, working within different schemes and holding different roles.

She is obsessed with the musician P!NK, the colour pink and pigs.
