Meyrick Court

Meyrick Court is a purpose built development of nine self contained, one-bedroom flats and two, two-bedroom flats situated in Newton-le-Willows owned by Regenda Homes. Tenancies are granted on an assured shorthold basis and each flat is either fully or part-furnished.

The staff team consists of the Scheme Manager and a Project Worker.

The Scheme provides self-contained accommodation for young single men and women aged 16-24, who are unable to live at home for any reason, or who have become homeless. This can include:

  • care leavers
  • young people with offending behaviour
  • young people who are experiencing mental ill-health
  • young single parents needing accommodation for themselves and their child(ren).

People currently stay for up to 2 years, while they work with us to assess their needs and we support them to become independent.

There is an office on site, which is staffed by a Scheme Workers during office hours and tenants requiring advice, information or support can call in at anytime to speak to staff

There is an out of hour’s service available for emergencies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay rent ?

If you are unemployed or on a low income, your rent can be paid by the local authority (Housing Benefit), if you meet the criteria for payment.

Staff will help you to make a claim and support you in ensuring that you submit the paperwork needed should your circumstances change.

Can I let people stay with me at my flat overnight ?

Tenants of Meyrick Court can have visitors during the day and occasionally overnight (both you and your guests are expected to respect those living near to the scheme and not play music too loudly or make other noise late at night or early in the morning).

What kind of help will be available for me ?

When you move in to Meyrick Court, you will be allocated a key-worker who will hold regular support sessions with you, helping you to create a support plan identifying the things that are important to you and the actions you need to take to help you secure more permanent housing.

Can I bring my pet with me ?

Unfortunately, you are not allowed to have any pets at Meyrick Court.
